How can we learn from what already exists in order to build for the future? This walk through Würzburg's Frauenland invites you to discover traditional and innovative architecture and to consider together how we can use the built heritage as a "quarry of ideas" for contemporary buildings.

At selected stations - from the neo-baroque university building to residential buildings with Art Deco decorations and modern, barrier-free extensions - art historian Prof. Dr. Matthias Staschull, head of the local board of trustees of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, shows us how sustainable building has been successful in Würzburg for over 100 years: through the reuse of materials, innovative solutions and the dialog between old and new.

Lovers of architecture, those interested in sustainability, students, urban developers and anyone who is enthusiastic about the future of building and heritage conservation.

22.11.2025 at 2 pm | Meeting point: Wittelsbacher Platz, Würzburg (bus stop)
Note: The walk lasts approx. 90 minutes and takes place in all weathers.

The event is free of charge. We look forward to your registration!
