A delegation of companies from the northern Italian region of Vicenza visited Bavaria in early December 2025 to find out about current developments in industrial production, digital transformation processes and innovation networks. The initiative was commissioned by Confindustria Vicenza, the regional industry association of the province of Vicenza. The 20 or so companies taking part were predominantly technically specialized small and medium-sized enterprises with close ties to German industry - particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, component manufacturing, drive technology, engineering plastics and stainless steel processing - and were accompanied by the AHK Italy.
On 3 December 2025, an information and exchange session took place in the morning at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria. As the thematic focus of the delegation was on industrial innovation, modern production processes and sustainability, Dr. Maximilian Bock, Head of Innovation Network Production at Bayern Innovativ, gave a technical keynote speech on the topics of humanoid robotics, Manufacturing-X and strategies for climate-neutral production.
During their visit, the guests were given an overview of the economic structure of the Free State of Bavaria. The economic relations between Italy and Bavaria and the dual training system were also presented. This provided an in-depth insight into the economic networking opportunities between the two regions. Overall, the trip contributed to learning about technological impulses from Bavaria, deepening networks and developing new perspectives for cooperation between companies from Vicenza and Bavarian industry.
