European RAMP Partnership: New Funding Opportunities for the Glass Industry

Sustainable use of raw materials is gaining attention across Europe: The RAMP partnership is creating new funding opportunities for research and businesses—and the glass industry can also benefit from transnational projects.
The European RAMP (Raw Materials for the Green and Digital Transition) partnership opens up new funding opportunities for companies, research institutions, and networks along the raw materials and value chains. The initiative aims to establish resilient and sustainable value chains for metallic and mineral resources.
As part of the partnership, annual transnational calls for proposals are planned through 2037. The focus is on research and innovation in the areas of sustainable raw material supply, resource-efficient production processes, product reuse, and high-quality recycling and circular economy solutions. German stakeholders can participate in the calls for proposals through the national framework announcement issued by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) and apply as part of transnational consortia.
This opens up a wide range of opportunities for the glass industry. Topics of interest may include increasing the proportion of recycled glass in production, developing closed-loop recycling concepts for flat, specialty, or solar glass, utilizing secondary raw material sources, substituting critical raw materials, and innovative approaches to the reuse of architectural and functional glass.
Participation in the RAMP funding calls offers companies and research partners the opportunity to collaborate with European stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for a resource-efficient and circular glass economy and to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness.
