The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) has published a call for proposals as part of the European partnership “Raw Materials for the Green and Digital Transition (RAMP).” The call is part of the RAMP Joint Call 2026 and supports transnational research and development projects aimed at strengthening a resilient and sustainable supply of raw materials for future technologies.

What is being funded? Funding is available for application-oriented R&D projects aimed at developing innovative technologies for the sustainable supply of raw materials from primary and secondary sources. The focus is on projects addressing the sustainable supply of primary raw materials as well as the recovery and recycling of raw materials from secondary sources. Digitalization, particularly the use of artificial intelligence, may also be an integral part of the projects.

Who is eligible for funding? This call for proposals is directed at eligible partners within transnational consortia. The participation of companies as users of the developed technologies is particularly encouraged.

How is funding provided? Projects are funded as non-repayable grants with a duration of typically up to 36 months. Each partner may apply for 100,000 to 300,000 euros; coordinating partners may apply for up to 350,000 euros. The concept notes, written in English, must be submitted by September 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. (CEST).
