The Enterprise Europe Network informs:
20.02.2026
The European Commission is currently revising the "New Legislative Framework" (NLF). Through an SME panel of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), small and medium-sized enterprises now have the opportunity to directly influence future legislation. Their practical experience will feed directly into the EU's impact assessment.
Why is this survey important to you?
The NLF forms the basis for the CE marking of numerous products - from machinery and electronics to toys. With the planned revision, the EU wants to make the legal framework fit for the digital age. The focus is on topics such as the digital product passport, dealing with software updates and facilitating online trade.
Who should take part?
The survey is aimed at all SMEs (up to 250 employees) that are active as manufacturers, importers or distributors of harmonized products in the EU. It doesn't matter whether you sell your goods stationary in a store or via e-commerce platforms.
The core content of the survey:
- Digital maturity: How well prepared is your company for new digital requirements (e.g. digital declarations of conformity)?
- Bureaucracy check: What are currently the biggest administrative burdens when implementing EU regulations?
- Opportunities of digitalization: Can the digital transformation actually simplify compliance with regulations for SMEs?
- Practical feedback: Take the opportunity to directly address open questions and specific experiences from your day-to-day business.
Timetable and participation
The survey is coordinated via the EEN and is divided into different sections (company data, specific legal acts, challenges).
Deadline: Feedback is possible until March 31, 2026.
