Public Charging Infrastructure on State-Owned Properties in the Free State of Bavaria

The availability of suitable sites is one of the key challenges in expanding the charging infrastructure.
Against this backdrop, the Free State of Bavaria is offering state-owned properties for the installation of publicly accessible charging stations. Suitable parking areas at state agencies and institutions—ranging from government offices to museums—have been selected for this purpose.
To date, approximately 100 properties have been identified, which will be entered into the federal government’s FlaechenTOOL starting in early July 2026. Applications for these sites are processed centrally through a management system operated by the Free State of Bavaria.
