The start-up Green Flexibility wants to build large-scale battery parks as large-scale storage facilities in Germany. An investor has already been found.

Partners Group, a global player in the private markets sector, is participating in the German battery start-up "green flexibility" with equity financing of up to 400 million euros. With additional debt capital, Partners Group and Green Flexibility have announced that a total project volume of over 1 billion euros will be made possible.

According to the joint plan, these funds will flow into battery storage projects throughout Germany. According to Green Flexibility, these projects will have a capacity of at least 10 MW, but also up to 100 MW. Based on its current project pipeline, the company can develop parks with a capacity of around 8,000 MW.

Green Flexibility is a developer and operator of large-scale battery storage systems based in Kempten (Bavaria). The company relies on close cooperation with other project developers and grid operators to operate the storage systems. The aim is to integrate local grid requirements into project implementation in a targeted manner. The Kempten-based company does not manufacture the batteries itself. The main supplier will be the Chinese manufacturer CATL, according to the statement.

"With Partners Group, we have the ideal partner to scale our company and realize our vision of a sustainable and reliable energy future," explains Christoph Ostermann, CEO of Green Flexibility.

According to its own information, Partners Group is one of the largest companies in the global private markets sector and manages assets of around 150 billion US dollars (equivalent to around 146 billion euros). The company is headquartered in Baar, Canton Zug (Switzerland). It offers solutions in the areas of private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and license rights.
