With a little wink, we select an amusing patent highlight from our collection for you every month.
Are you in the mood for some bizarre patents? Then just sit back and browse through our best-of series - you'll see: Nothing is impossible. And we add something new every month!
* Please note that our patents of the month are often patent applications and utility models. These are not examined by the patent offices.
Patent of the month November 2025
Gardening made easy
November is the time to do the last gardening jobs before winter: Pruning shrubs and fruit trees, harvesting late vegetables and removing leaves from lawns. For the latter, you either need tools such as rakes and leaf vacuums or you can simply use your hands and feet for smaller amounts. With the "Leaf Gathering Trousers" you don't need any tools, nor do you have to bend down to collect them. Once you have put on the trousers with the net between your legs, all you have to do is walk around the garden. You simply take the leaves with you.
By the way: As (un)practical as the whole thing may sound, such trousers must meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 and offer a certain level of ergonomics. If the collector constantly stumbles while working and falls into his own pile of leaves, there can be no question of a "safe product".

Pretzels from the conveyor belt
Brezn, Breze, Brezel, Bretzel - the traditional pretzel has many spellings and a huge fan base. Nowadays, the dough pieces are very rarely shaped by a skilled hand. The automated "pretzel twisting device" performs this task on a large scale. It essentially consists of two conveyor belts of different widths and a rotating component that creates the typical knot. The dough ends hang down from the first, narrow conveyor and pass through the looping element below. The second, wider conveyor belt then picks up the twisted "arms" before the pretzel belly is dropped down at the end of the first conveyor belt. What an ingenious technique!
By the way, did you know that this machine must have a high safety standard for the user, i.e. the pretzel baker, in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC? After all, the conveyor belts should only convey and shape pretzels and not also pull in the operator's sleeves and unintentionally force their arms or even the entire baker into a pretzel shape. And, of course, hygiene requirements for food processing machines must also be met, for example by applying the harmonized EN 1672 series of standards (design guidelines for food processing machines). After all, even the most beautiful shape and the best automated production process won't help if the pretzel is riddled with bacteria or old dough residue.

Clean ballast
No train can get from A to B without a track bed. Due to its composition, it makes a decisive contribution to the safety, stability and durability of the track system. Over time, however, dust, waste and brake wear accumulate in the ballast. It "sticks" and loses its functions. Drainage and damping in particular are impaired. This is where the track ballast bed cleaning machine comes into play. In the special wagons of the up to 400 meter long work train, the stones are made fit again for their important use.
Patent of the month August 2025
Pleasantly warm water
Nowadays, most aquarium fish are bred in large fish farms. But even if they have never seen their native habitat, they need their special feel-good temperature to be able to swim happily through the water. Our patent of the month can help with this. The software continuously stores real weather data from any location in the world. At the right time of day, it allows the associated control unit to set the appropriate light conditions and water temperatures. With the right additional equipment, it would even be possible to simulate precipitation.

Hairluja!
We present to you a combination of two hair care appliances with a very special charaktHAIR. While you treat yourself to a little time out, the hair washer cleans your head of hair with shampoo, nourishes it with conditioner and rinses everything out again carefully. Splashing around in private
The in-ground swimming pool is buried in the home garden and is therefore invisible to passers-by. Thanks to the modular design, the length of the pool can be determined at will - depending on the conditions of the property and budget. Via the basement of the house, you first enter an airlock, then the anteroom with relaxation area and shower. Finally, you reach the swimming pool, where you can swim your lengths regardless of the season and protected from prying eyes. We wish you "Good wet!"
Patent of the month May 2025
Peel and feast
The asparagus season is short and everyone who loves the spring vegetable tries to prepare as many delicious dishes as possible with it. Unfortunately, peeling comes before feasting. Our patent of the month for May promises to make this unpleasant task twice as quick. This tongs-shaped kitchen appliance has two blades that remove just as many strips of peel with each cut. So you can conjure up your favorite dishes in no time at all. Enjoy your meal!
Patent of the month April 2025
Magnetic magic
The joker and magic turtle seems to move magically on its own. If you push the guide magnet around under a thin plate, the little reptile follows it thanks to a second magnet in the shell and its attractive force. This simple solution creates a surprising effect and is also less susceptible to faults than drives with spring mechanisms or small motors, as known from comparable toys.
Patent of the month March 2025
Celebration fountain
Whether it's your birthday, a new recipe, the sun is shining again after the rain or your favorite song is playing on the radio - there's always a good reason to celebrate! Confetti is often part of the standard equipment at events to express the festive mood. With our patent of the month, you literally have your own device for distributing the small colorful pieces of paper "always at hand".
Patent of the month February 2025
Togetherness, even when it's snowing
Do you also enjoy walking hand in hand with your sweetheart? Then we have just the right winter accessory for you: a combination of muff and glove. One cuff each allows your hands to enter the shared interior of the muff and stay protected from the cold. When the temperatures rise again and you no longer need a warmer, two zippers and an adjustment on the strap turn it into a bag. So you can enjoy it for the rest of the year.
Patent of the month January 2025
...to melt away
As soon as the temperatures drop and the first snow falls, the fight against ice begins. At the beginning of the 20th century, heat was still used for this purpose. A small cylindrical stove was attached to a pole, from which the smouldering coal fell into a long wedge-shaped container. With the help of the heated metal, snow and ice simply melted away and no one had to worry about slipping.

Half the trouble, twice the pleasure!
The Christmas tree hanger consists of a vertical longitudinal beam and flexible wire branch holders welded onto it. There are two retractable feet at the lower end that prevent the structure from swinging back and forth. Attached to a wall and decorated with fresh fir greenery, the half Christmas tree lends even the smallest room an atmospheric ambience.
Patent of the month November 2024:
Hot part against cold fingers
Do you sometimes get a chill down your spine at work? Unfortunately, we have no remedy for this. But thanks to the mouse pad with frost protection, at least your hand will always stay nice and warm. A classic mouse pad is extended by a kind of "cave" in which your hand and the computer mouse have space. This layer contains a liquid that heats up when the mouse pad is connected to a power source via a USB cable.
Patent of the month October 2024:
Ladder to freedom
The thought of spiders can strike fear into the hearts of some people. It's even worse if you come across them in your own household. If you don't want to encounter them in the bathtub, but still appreciate them as mosquito and fly hunters, you need a "spider ladder". With the help of this elastic rubber strip, the eight-legged creatures find their way out of their white, smooth prison all by themselves and are sure to disappear into the nearest dark corner again.
Patent of the month September 2024:
Wicked upgrade
Bumper cars are a popular attraction at folk festivals. Some visitors just take a leisurely ride, while faster riders look forward to mass pile-ups. This design provides even more riding fun, as the operator controls turntables set into the ground as he sees fit. Depending on the direction of rotation and speed of the plate, sliding or skidding effects occur, giving passengers a completely new, unpredictable ride experience.
Patent of the month August 2024:
Bed bath
Our patent of the month is intended to make the full-body care of bed patients more efficient and relieve the burden on nursing staff. The patient is placed in the portable bath capsule before it is filled with water. The rough structure of the inside of the capsule and gentle pressure from the outside are used to wash and massage the relevant parts of the body. In a second step, the body and capsule are dried by passing warm air through them.
Patent of the month July 2024:
A basket for all occasions
The topic of "sustainability" now plays a major role in many areas of everyday life. You can also make a valuable contribution during your beach vacation! This beach chair is multifunctional and not only serves as robust seating, but can also be used horizontally as a small boat. If you attach wheels or runners to the outside, you can turn it into a trolley or sledge. The material made of glass fiber reinforced plastics makes the invention lightweight but also extremely weather-resistant. Long service life guaranteed!

Coffee with a kick
Who doesn't appreciate a good cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon? Bring some "oomph" to your little break with our patent of the month. The table is equipped with a recess and a swivel bar at both ends. Pouring vessels, e.g. for milk, can now be placed on this construction. If you want to refine your drink, hold your cup under the pouring device and turn the rod. Cheers!
Patent of the month May 2024:
Folding combi
We present the perfect companion for your next outing. With its innovative design, this trolley combines the functionality of a folding beer bench set with the mobility of a handcart. In a matter of seconds, it can be transformed from a means of transportation into a comfortable seat - without any tools! After use, it can be dismantled again and stored in a space-saving manner ready for use on future outdoor adventures.
Patent of the month April 2024:
Bad weather rescuer
Beautifully draped hairstyles and bad weather simply don't go together. But what can you do to arrive at your destination "unscathed"? Caps destroy your hair and umbrellas don't protect you from the wind. The bad weather cap is just the thing! It is worn close to the head without touching the hair and the pieces of cloth under the chin keep the ears warm. When the sun comes out again, you simply fold up the fan-shaped frame and stow it in your bag to save space.
Patent of the month March 2024:
Bunnies swing!
There are all kinds of ride-on toys for small children that are designed according to a simple principle. One axle of the wheeled vehicle is connected to a figure by a rod, which moves forwards and backwards or up and down by rolling the wheels, for example. Unfortunately, boredom sets in quite quickly as these movements are constantly repeated. By adding a second, swinging figure, the inventors double the dynamics of the toy and thus extend the fun of the game.
Patent of the month February 2024:
Always stay nice and firm to the bite
Modern cooking methods are making our food softer and softer and making vigorous chewing mostly superfluous. As a result, the muscles in the mouth lack important utilization, the jaw areas become weaker and dental health suffers. Charles G. Purdy recognized this as early as 1923 and developed a simple training device to strengthen the facial muscles. A mouthpiece with notches for the teeth is attached to an elastic object, such as a spiral, using an eyelet. By moving the head forwards and backwards, similar to a tug-of-war, all areas of the mouth are exercised and trained.
Patent of the month January 2024:
Bright little head
Everyone is talking about sustainability and now you can even make a small contribution when building your next snowman. From now on, you no longer have to use a carrot from the grocery store as a nose. Take our patent of the month instead: the reusable illuminated carrot! It consists of a semi-transparent orange-reddish plastic housing and can hold an LED tea light. Your snowman will put all others in the shade!
Ideally, the path to a patent is as follows: you need an idea, then create a prototype, find out about the market situation and then have the invention patented as a property right. With good ideas, nothing stands in the way of success. There are a variety of patents, including phenomenal, groundbreaking, creative, useful and funny ones.
