Survey on the Electrification of Construction Sites
Use your experience to help shape research on battery-powered construction equipment and flexible energy storage systems

Electrification isn’t stopping at construction sites either: battery-powered construction machinery and flexible energy storage systems are increasingly coming onto the market. But how well do they actually fit into everyday construction site operations?
In the ForBat@Bau research project, the Technical University of Munich, together with industry partners such as STRABAG, Max Bögl, Liebherr, and Bauer, is investigating the current state of development regarding electrification on construction sites. An anonymous online survey aims to identify existing hurdles and gather specific customer requirements.
The survey is aimed in particular at construction managers, foremen, construction planners, and professionals in the fields of technology and innovation. Participation takes about 5 to 10 minutes and requires no preparation.
The results will be made publicly available after evaluation. Participation is open until October 5, 2026. With your responses, you support the research and help shape the project’s future focus areas.
