Skills4Circularity Builds Capacity for the Circular Textile Economy

July 16, 2026

Skills4Circularity identifies the future skills needed in the textile industry and develops training programs for the circular economy, digitalization, and sustainable production in Europe.

The Erasmus+ project Skills4Circularity, in collaboration with 21 partners from twelve countries, is investigating which skills the European textile industry still lacks in the areas of the circular economy and digitalization. The project is based on a Europe-wide company survey, expert interviews, and an AI-supported analysis of job postings. The focus is on skill areas such as recycling, eco-design, traceability, life cycle assessments, data management, and sustainable production. Based on the results, the project is developing continuing education programs on recycling technologies, eco-design, and sustainable production. The goal is to specifically prepare the industry for the requirements of a circular and digital textile economy.
