RITTWEGER and TEAM Become Partners in the New Materials Cluster

With the introduction of the Digital Product Passport, the role of materials is undergoing a fundamental transformation. In addition to technical properties, information on origin, composition, carbon footprint, material safety, reparability, and recyclability will also be digitally available and machine-readable in the future.

To this end,RITTWEGER and TEAM are developing methods and digital frameworks at the Circular Material LAB to make material data usable throughout the entire value chain. The focus is on digital product passports, circular materials, digital twins, and AI-based evaluation methods that support companies in assessing and selecting materials.

The goal is to no longer view materials in isolation, but rather as part of data-driven information systems that create transparency across the entire life cycle—from planning through production and use to the next life cycle. This opens up new opportunities for the circular economy, regulatory compliance, and sustainable innovation.

Membership in the New Materials Cluster offers the ideal platform to drive these developments forward in collaboration with research institutions, materials manufacturers, and industry partners, and to develop new approaches for the digital transformation of materials.
