Number of Battery Storage Systems in Germany by 2026
The number of installed storage systems is growing steadily. Home storage systems, in particular, are shaping the market, while large-scale storage systems are also becoming increasingly important.

As of January 1, 2026, the total number of registered battery storage systems in Germany stood at approximately 2.29 million. The majority of these were residential storage systems (up to 30 kilowatt-hours), and approximately 440 were classified as large-scale storage systems (1,000 kilowatt-hours or more).
