Heat pumps, solar systems and electricity storage systems to work more closely together in future. Lichtblick and Viessmann are developing a joint offer for this purpose.

Hamburg-based Lichtblick and Viessmann Climate Solutions from Allendorf (Hesse) want to jointly offer integrated energy solutions for private households. The aim of the cooperation is to technically and digitally connect various components in the home. These include heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, electricity storage units and wallboxes as well as electricity supply contracts and digital energy services. This was revealed in a joint press release issued by the companies on May 12.

According to the partners, the offer is primarily aimed at prosumers, i.e. households that generate their own electricity and also draw energy from the grid. Viessmann Climate Solutions provides the technical infrastructure with heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, electricity storage units and wallboxes. Lichtblick complements the offering with electricity tariffs, metering point operation and digital energy services.

Lichtblick emphasizes the importance of greater networking of energy applications in the home. Eduard Gerlof, Senior Director B2C at Lichtblick, explained that prosumers should be able to use their self-generated energy as comprehensively as possible. Together with Viessmann, a technical basis for a networked energy supply in the home is being developed.

Control based on electricity price and weather data

According to the company, Lichtblick's "StromWallet Dynamic Pro" product is at the heart of the collaboration. It combines a dynamic electricity tariff with an AI-supported energy management system. According to the press release, this analyzes weather data, generation profiles and energy requirements in the household. On this basis, the system automatically controls energy flows and shifts consumption to favorable time windows.

The dynamic electricity tariff is based on the electricity exchange prices every quarter of an hour. This should enable households to make targeted use of times when electricity prices are low, for example to charge an electric car or operate an electricity storage unit. According to Lichtblick, customers can use an app to track electricity prices, energy consumption and costs as well as control individual applications.

The company is planning further services for flexible electricity use in the future. According to Lichtblick, this could also include the participation of private households in flexibility markets.

Nationwide network of tradespeople involved

According to the company, specialist tradesmen from the Viessmann Climate Solutions network provide advice, planning, installation and maintenance of the systems.

Lichtblick claims to have more than 1.7 million customers in Germany. The company is part of the Dutch energy group Eneco and achieved a turnover of 1.54 billion euros in the 2024/25 financial year. Viessmann Climate Solutions emerged from the heating technology manufacturer Viessmann, which was founded in 1917, and today offers systems for heating, water and air solutions as well as renewable energies.
