Innovation wishes
Dear Innovation, I would like to see ....
As children, we wrote letters and notes, drew pictures and made crafts to pass on our wishes to Santa Claus, the Christ Child or simply to our parents. From a Barbie doll to a fire engine, from a new guitar to ice skates: the list was long and it was easy for us to dream. We intuitively knew what would make us happy and had no problem saying it.
As adults, wishing becomes more complicated. We rarely formulate what we hope for, instead we think about what we lack, what frustrates us or where we reach our limits. But this is exactly where they lie hidden: our real desires. Desires for change, for simplification, for a better tomorrow.
It is precisely these desires that can be the first spark that ignites innovation. Without the desire for faster routes, there would be no cars. Without the desire for connectivity, there would be no smartphones. Without the idea of making everyday life easier, there would be no digital assistants, no medical advances, no mobility concepts of the future. Innovation rarely begins as a technical concept, it starts as a quiet thought: "How nice it would be if...". Today, in 2025, we are laying the foundations for technologies that we may not even be able to imagine today. For the big and small wonders of tomorrow.
With this in mind, we asked around at Bayern Innovativ: What wishes do the people who work every day to drive innovation in Bavaria have? What do they want not for themselves, but for Bavaria as a location for innovation, for research, companies and the future of our state?
