Funding opportunities for refurbishment roadmaps in the Bavarian funding program for energy concepts and municipal energy use plans
Bavaria promotes municipal refurbishment roadmaps - systematically planning climate neutrality for public buildings
17.07.2025
Municipal properties have great potential for reducing greenhouse gases.
The aim of the funding project is to develop an energy-efficient refurbishment roadmap for several municipal properties to reduce energy requirements as far as possible - if possible to the point of climate neutrality. The refurbishment roadmap is to provide detailed analyses as well as implementation and investment plans.
The detailed analyses and implementation plans enable construction companies to implement targeted measures to save and generate energy. This includes both structural measures to improve the building envelope and the integration of modern technologies such as heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. The construction industry therefore plays a central role in the implementation of energy-efficient renovation roadmaps and makes a significant contribution to achieving climate neutrality.
The refurbishment roadmap is made up of general principles, individual refurbishment roadmaps for each building and an overall refurbishment roadmap for the entire property. Heat, electricity and structural measures for energy saving and energy generation can be examined.
In addition to local authorities, districts and companies such as housing cooperatives are also eligible to apply.
