Live streaming requires a very different infrastructure than that used for previous broadcast streaming models. AMD wants to get in on this growth market and is developing a new accelerator card.
For the first time, AMD has opted for an ASIC-based approach for its new Alveo MA35D media accelerator card. Only in this way, according to Sean Gardner, Head of Video Strategy & Market Development at AMD, it was possible to both meet the technical requirements and achieve the cost targets. By 2028, the video streaming market is forecast to reach $213 billion.
