First Wunsiedel, now Pfeffenhausen: the HyLand hydrogen region projects in Bavaria are picking up speed.

With the groundbreaking ceremony on 15. September the starting signal for the construction of an electrolyzer in Pfeffenhausen (Landshut district, Bavaria) for green hydrogen production given.

The 5 MW electrolyzer with compressor and filling station is part of the Hy Performer project "HyBayern", announced the Federal Ministry of Transport (BDMV). The districts of Landshut, Ebersberg and Munich had won in the first round of the "HyLand" competition in the HyPerformer category. Now the BMDV is supporting the project with up to 20 million euros in investment grants for hydrogen applications in transportation. The aim is to work with transport operators, energy suppliers, industry, commerce and trade to establish a circular economy of green hydrogen production, hydrogen distribution and hydrogen use in emission-free hydrogen vehicle fleets.

On 14. September, an electrolyzer also funded by the BMDV had gone into operation in Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge region as part of a project of the city and the municipal utility SWW Wunsiedel GmbH, Rießner Gase GmbH, Lichtenfels and Siemens AG (we reported).
