Cluster New Materials partner Alumina Systems receives award for commitment to environmental and climate protection
Alumina Systems GmbH from Redwitz an der Rodach was awarded the certificate of participation in the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact during an official visit by Bavaria's Environment Minister Thorsten Glauber for its exemplary commitment to environmental and climate protection. This makes Alumina Systems one of the pioneers in the energy and resource-intensive technical ceramics industry. The company boasts an EMAS-certified environmental management system and pursues ambitious goals such as reducing gas consumption, fully recycling ceramic waste and expanding renewable energies. In addition to classic technical ceramics and ceramic-metal composite components for semiconductor technology, Alumina Systems also impresses with other innovative products such as the saline-based "CeraSalt" battery, which does not require lithium or cobalt. The company is thus demonstrating how sustainable technologies can be implemented both economically and ecologically and is making an important contribution to the energy transition.
By doubling the number of employees at the Redwitz site within ten years and continuously expanding its product portfolio, Alumina Systems impressively demonstrates that sustainable innovation and economic growth go hand in hand.
