The project "RTIT: Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region" promotes innovation in the field of sustainable, bio-based and advanced materials by connecting SMEs, research institutions and stakeholders across the Danube region through targeted knowledge transfer and demonstration activities.
The materials mentioned include:
- Nachhaltige Materialien / Sustainable Materials: the focus is on materials from renewable biological sources, such as agricultural and forestry by-products, including biopolymers, mycelium-based composites and natural fibers. This group is aimed at SMEs working on sustainable alternatives to fossil-based materials with clear application potential in the fields of packaging, construction or product design.
- Bio-based Materials: The focus is on materials from renewable biological sources, such as agricultural and forestry by-products, including biopolymers, mycelium-based composites and natural fibers. This group is aimed at SMEs working on sustainable alternatives to fossil-based materials with clear application potential in the fields of packaging, construction or product design.
- Advanced Materials: Limited to specific applications of advanced materials relevant to the participating countries: e.g. smart and functional fibers, coatings for agriculture and industry, lightweight and hybrid composites, self-healing building materials. Due to the focus of the project, research and development in the field of nanomaterials is excluded unless it is directly related to one of the above-mentioned applications.
