Bavarian-Ghanaian cooperation in agricultural technology, food processing and agricultural trade

The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is offering a delegation trip to Ghana from September 21 to 26, 2026. The trip will be led by State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt.

The trip is aimed at decision-makers from Bavarian companies in the mechanical engineering, food, agriculture and forestry sectors.

Ghana is an economically dynamic and politically stable, English-speaking country in West Africa with direct access to international sea routes. The West African Economic Community ECOWAS (approx. 317 million inhabitants) and the AfCFTA internal market potential (around 1.3 billion people) open up a large sales area in which products and solutions can be scaled up quickly.

Ghana offers short-term business opportunities along the entire agricultural value chain - especially for providers with practical, robust and scalable technical solutions and service-oriented business models. Right now, political support, available funds and clear market demand are coming together in Ghana. This is a rare opportunity for Bavarian companies to diversify and build sustainable export and production relationships.

What you can expect:

  • Exclusive visits to pioneering companies, start-ups and research centers.
  • Meetings with key institutions and decision-makers from the Ghanaian government.
  • Exciting discussions with entrepreneurs and thought leaders in the food sector in Accra.
  • Networking opportunities with other delegates and potential local partners.

In preparation, an online information event will take place on May 12, 2026 from 14:00 to 15:00.
