July 2026 Monthly Review: Insights from the Cultural and Creative Industries

In July, the focus was on exchange between the creative industries, technology, science, and business. From Tech Days and the Festival of the Future to our Creative Tech Meet-up and European projects, the events demonstrated how new ideas and collaborations emerge from diverse perspectives.

Creative Tech at Tech Days 2026

Tech Days 2026 in Munich brought together stakeholders from business, academia, the creative industries, and technology. The Creative Tech session focused on new solutions, partnerships, and the design of interfaces between humans and machines.

Cross Innovation at Munich Urban Colab

At the “Creative Tech for Impact” meetup, creative professionals met with technology experts. The event centered on cross-innovation and preparations for Ars Electronica 2026. Discussions on funding, intellectual property rights, and real-world examples created opportunities for new collaboration ideas.

Friction as a Catalyst for Innovation

The Festival of the Future in Munich focused on the question of how friction that can arise in international cooperation can be recognized as an opportunity and harnessed to drive innovation. Florian Heilmayr from the Enterprise Europe Network Bavaria, along with our colleagues Charlotte Stegmayer and Sivanne Burbulla, explored this question using concrete real-world examples.

BAUHALPS Launches Its Pilot Phase

At the partner meeting in Lucerne, the consortium tested the BAUHALPS toolkit and discussed initial progress reports. Together with the Technical University of Rosenheim and the Holzforum Allgäu, we presented the concept of “micro-neighborhoods” as well as initial survey results on the toolkit’s performance.

Impulses for Circular Construction

At the event “Recycling in Building Construction,” organized by Bayern Innovativ as part of the Interreg project “Riba” on July 15 in Munich, real-world examples demonstrated how the circular economy can already be implemented in building construction today. We were also on site with the EU projects DECORATOR and BAUHALPS and gained insights into innovative approaches to planning and collaboration.
The events and projects in July demonstrate how important cross-sector and cross-disciplinary exchange is for innovation. New perspectives and collaboration lay the foundation for jointly developing ideas further.
