CreativeStack: Culture and the Creative Industries as an Infrastructure for Innovation

Europe needs new impetus for innovation. The “CreativeStack” white paper shows why the cultural and creative industries play a key role in this and should be more closely integrated into political strategies.

With the white paper “CreativeStack – An Innovation Infrastructure,” Creative-FED is contributing to the debate on Europe’s innovation and digital policy. At its core is the call to recognize the cultural and creative industries as a central innovation infrastructure for Europe and to integrate them more closely into political and economic strategies.

The publication argues that the cultural and creative industries are far more than just a separate economic sector. They not only create cultural and economic value but also form an important foundation for innovation, digital sovereignty, and the development of new technologies. At the same time, it points out that creative and cultural actors have not yet been sufficiently taken into account in European funding structures, innovation programs, and digital strategies.

With a total of 28 recommendations for action, the publication provides impetus for the future role of the cultural and creative industries in European innovation, funding, and digital policy.
