April 2026 Monthly Review: Insights from the Cultural and Creative Industries
Spotlight on Creative Tech
May 4, 2026
In April, in addition to current developments in the cultural and creative industries, the spotlight was also on an important realignment: the creative industries division at Bayern Innovativ—formerly bayernkreativ—is becoming CreativeTechHUB. With a focus on creative technologies, creative approaches and future technologies will be linked even more closely.
Creative Tech at the German Creative Economy Summit
At the German Creative Economy Summit 2026 in Hamburg, CreativeTechHUB, together with Mathis Nitschke, presented a keynote on creative tech and artificial intelligence. The focus was on how new technologies are already transforming creative processes, collaboration, and forms of expression today, and what new opportunities this is creating.
Future Technologies at the Hannover Messe
Technological developments and new applications were also the focus at the Hannover Messe. Topics such as automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital ecosystems shaped the trade show. Our colleague Johanna Lison was on site and got an overview of the latest innovations and technological trends.
XR Technologies at Messe Stuttgart
On April 28 and 29, 2026, the XR EXPO took place for the first time at Messe Stuttgart. The event centered on applications in virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality for sectors such as industry, healthcare, construction, and retail. Johanna Lison used the event to learn about current developments and fields of application and to gain new insights.
The events in April demonstrate how closely creativity and technological innovation are increasingly being considered together. With the reorientation toward the CreativeTechHUB, this approach will take center stage even more in the future.
