Fortiss

fortiss is the Bavarian State Research Institute for Software-Intensive Systems and Services, based in Munich. The scientists at the institute cooperate in research, development and transfer projects with universities and technology companies in Bavaria, Germany and Europe. The focus is on research into state-of-the-art methods, techniques and tools for software development, software & systems engineering, AI engineering and IoT engineering and their application to reliable, secure cyber-physical systems such as the Internet of Things (IoT).

fortiss is organized in the legal form of a non-profit GmbH. Shareholders are the Free State of Bavaria (majority shareholder) and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V..

The fortiss Mittelstand division offers a comprehensive, integrated transfer program consisting of information events and qualification measures on software-based innovation. It enables accompanying support in the development of sophisticated software-based products and services up to marketable prototypes.
