Information
TI has been conducting semiconductor research, development and production in Freising since 1966. The production facility was upgraded to 200mm wafers in 2000 and today has around 10,000 m2 of clean room space. As part of its global research network "Kilby Labs", TI has an advanced technology R & D center in Freising. Named after TI employee Jack Kilby, Nobel Prize winner and inventor of the integrated circuit in 1956, the lab is the center for TI's innovation leadership and R&D activities in Europe. Freising is also home to a variety of other R&D activities related to chip design, manufacturing efficiency and sustainability. Based on its long-standing presence in Europe, TI is part of the innovation landscape for semiconductors and drives joint innovation projects together with its customers from many sectors, especially in the automotive and industrial applications area.
