Pulsetrain develops and industrializes modular multilevel battery systems that combine charger, inverter and BMS in one system. By using intelligent switches at cell level, batteries can be flexibly connected, operated with low losses and safely controlled - even with voltages of up to 10 kV, with < 60 V when switched off. Our products enable higher efficiency, simplified production (even with second-life or semi-solid-state cells), faster charging times and drastically increased operational safety. In addition to hardware, Pulsetrain offers software solutions, diagnostic systems (e.g. pulse cyclers) and individual development partnerships for OEMs, research institutions and industrial customers worldwide. Technology / Research
Pulsetrain researches and develops multilevel inverter technology for batteries, which makes battery cells directly usable as inverters for the first time. Key areas of research are pulse-based charging processes, software-defined batteries (SDB), highly safe battery systems <60 V in idle state and adaptive cell interconnection to increase efficiency, service life and sustainability in electromobility and aviation.
