Information
The aim of training at the LEB is to introduce our students and our trainees to semiconductor technology and the associated process technology from both the theoretical and practical sides. As part of our bauhaus initiative, theoretical teaching is supplemented by independent work in the "workshop", analogous to the teaching concept of the bauhaus school of architecture. To this end, we provide interested students with access to cleanroom technology and our simulation and design tools, so that they can gain practical skills in chip design and processing in the cleanroom in addition to theory. In addition, our trainees receive a student-supervised internship for in-depth theoretical training. Central to both training paths is a comprehensive theoretical and practical acquisition of skills for later work in front-end, design, research and development.
Profile
The Chair of Electronic Devices (LEB) is engaged in the development, fabrication, characterization and simulation of semiconductor-based devices for power, micro- and nanoelectronics. Together with Fraunhofer IISB, LEB operates FAU's clean room laboratory with 1000 m2 clean room area and end-to-end process chain for both silicon-based and devices on high bandgap materials, especially silicon carbide (SiC).
