Technologies / Research

At the Parsberg-Lupburg Technology Campus, scientific and technical research is conducted under the overarching theme of “Modern Materials and Their Processing in Digitalized Manufacturing Environments.” The development of innovations and prototypical solutions is carried out in accordance with Bavarian, German, and European high-tech strategies.
The processing and manufacturing processes in focus primarily include joining processes in the fields of welding technology, additive manufacturing of metals and plastics, and heat treatment processes. A deep understanding of material properties, the development of advanced plant and automation concepts, the design of optimal process control strategies, and the development of digital process environments can only be achieved through a holistic view of the manufacturing process chains. This enables the complete automation of process design, simulation, process monitoring, and data analysis. Within the framework of publicly funded projects, contract research, and consulting services, corresponding research activities are conducted and results are generated in the following areas of work.
