Prof. Dr. Achim J. Lilienthal is a full professor at TU Munich, head of the chair "Perception for Intelligent Systems", deputy director of the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI), and manager of the "KI.Fabrik" at the German Museum in Munich. 
His research fundamentally targets perception systems in unconstrained, dynamic environments, typically leveraging domain knowledge and AI. This includes perception for Intelligent mobile robots, intelligent robot olfaction, spatial human-robot interaction, as well as Eye-tracking and AI support systems. 
Prof. Dr. Achim J. Lilienthal has been the coordinator of three EU projects and PI in six EU projects, established two spinoff companies in Sweden (Retenua and QTPIE), has published more than 300 refereed conference papers and journal articles, is senior member of IEEE, and evaluator for several national funding agencies and the EU.
