Pushing the limits in quantum technology and microscopy

Qlibri is a spin-off from the LMU Munich (chair of Nobel prize laureate Prof. Hänsch) and our team has the vision to enable researchers and developers to push the limits in quantum technology and microscopy. Qlibri uses optical microresonators consisting of two highly reflective mirrors (one of them smaller than a human hair) between which light bounces back and forth 100.000 times. We developed a platform for quantum information technology and an absorption microscope with unprecedented sensitivity. Our quantum optics platform is operated at -270°C and while still allowing for flexible operation has subatomic stability paving the way towards quantum key distribution, quantum repeaters and quantum computing. The resonator microscope enables the real-time imaging and spectral characterization of individual nanostructures and nanoparticles in absorption yielding much more information than current fluorescent techniques for R&D and quality control.
