BioBiotech Cluster Development GmbH:

For over 25 years, BioM has been the central network organization for the biotechnology sector in Munich and Bavaria, commissioned by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. As non-profit organization BioM supports the biotech community in a variety of ways with its extensive network. The cluster management offers centralized access and connects Bavarian life science companies with relevant national and international partners.

BioM supports Bavarian biotech companies at every stage of setting up their business. Especially for prospective company founders, BioM offers comprehensive advice and specialized coaching, training and mentoring programs. In addition, BioM 2024 opens its physical incubator MAxL (Munich Accelerator Life Sciences & Medicine) for pre-seed projects and early-stage start-ups in the biotech and healthtech sector. Since 2011, BioM has coordinated the m4 Award pre-seed competition in the field of biomedicine, which is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs with a total of 2.5 million euros. In total, BioM has supported over 250 start-ups. BioM also organizes a wide range of training courses, events and network meetings.

Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria:

On behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, BioM, is mandated to manage the Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria as part of the governmental "Cluster Initiative Bavaria". The objective is to connect the different Biotech Regions of Bavaria within a larger network. The Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria develops synergies, represents the Bavarian biotech industry at an international level, and communicates to the public to maintain international perception of Bavaria as a top biotech location. The annual Bavarian Biotech Report gives an overview about the business data and company profiles of the Bavarian biotech industry. A central task is to improve technology transfer from Bavarian research institutes. BioM supports business development activities of the industry and helps Bavarian biotech companies to find the right business partners.
