Thomas R. Köhler
Thomas R. Köhler,
Thomas R. Köhler is managing partner of CE21 GmbH and author of several standard works on cyber security, including "Chefsache Cybersicherheit" (CAMPUS Verlag) and - in English - "Understanding Cyber Risk" (Routledge / Taylor&Francis). With his company CE21, he advises medium-sized and large companies as well as public and church institutions on the development of secure infrastructures, the selection and implementation of suitable security technologies and on security and data protection compliance issues.
Thomas R. Köhler holds a degree in business administration from the University of Würzburg, where he worked as a research assistant in business informatics under Prof. Thome. From there he founded companies in the field of internet applications and backend process automation for B2B e-commerce logistics. Since 2008, he has focused on technology strategy consulting with his current company CE21, based in Holzkirchen with branches in Bornheim (near Bonn) and Leipzig. In addition, he has published 17 (!) of his own books on technology topics to date, including the bestseller "Die Internetfalle" (FAZ book 2010 - in the program until 2019), setting the trend for a (now common) critical view of the consequences of social media and BigTech's data collection mania. In 2021, he marked a turning point in the emerging debate on cybersecurity with "Chefsache Cybersicherheit", in which he clearly addressed "non-technical decision-makers". Köhler is a sought-after technology expert and frequently featured in leading media (including ARD, ZDF, RTL/NTV, Pro7, Antenne Bayern, Handelsblatte, NZZ, FAZ, Capital and many more)
