Thomas Kirmayr studied industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim and holds an Executive MBA from RWTH Aachen University and the University of St. Gallen.
Mr. Kirmayr has been head of the Fraunhofer Building Research Alliance for six years, coordinating the entire building research sector of the Fraunhofer Society, which currently involves 15 Fraunhofer Institutes.
The focus of current research is primarily on innovative and climate-friendly solid building materials, but also on new methods of construction waste processing and the implementation of the circular economy. In addition, the Construction Alliance is intensively engaged in the topics of digitalization and systemic construction and renovation.
