Robert Gonda has been working as a consultant in the Energy and Environment department at the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce since 2024. In this role, he supports companies in the implementation of measures for energy efficiency, CO₂ savings and the sustainable use of resources. His work also focuses on providing advice as part of funding programs and developing regional sustainability initiatives for the economy.

He is currently completing an external doctorate at the Chair of Human Geography and Transformation Research at the University of Augsburg. His dissertation deals with the socio-ecological consequences of the drying up of Lake Urmia in Iran, especially in the context of political ecology and water governance.
