Prof. Dr. Frank Petzold
Prof. Dr. Frank Petzold studied computer science at the HAB Weimar (now Bauhaus University Weimar) with a minor in architecture and civil engineering. After completing his studies he was a scient. He worked as a research assistant at the Bauhaus University Weimar. After completing his doctorate in 2001, he held a junior professorship for architectural informatics until he became a full professor at TUM. In 2014, he co-founded the TUM LOC - Center for digital Technologies for the build enviroment and has been a second member of the Department of Informatics since 2017.
Prof. Petzold is spokesman of the working group for architectural informatics. Since 2015, he has been Vice President of the DARL (Deans' Conference for Architecture, Spatial Planning and Landscape Architecture) and a member of the Information Management Working Group of the German Construction Industry Association. In 2020, he became spokesperson for the thematic platform "Digital Building and Planning" at ZD.B, which was renamed the thematic platform "Innovative Building" in 2022. He has been a member of the Bundesverband Bausoftware since 2022.
At TUM, he is a member of the TUM-IAS Advisory Council, the Munich Data Science Institute and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Georg Nemetschek Institute - Artificial Intelligence for the Built World.
