Oliver Bohlen received his doctorate in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 2001. From 2007 to 2014, he worked as a systems engineer for BMS algorithms and the pre-development of HV battery architectures for electric vehicles at BMW AG. Since 2014, he has been working in the field of electrical energy storage at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Since 2019, he is the scientific director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy Systems. His research focuses on the modeling and diagnosis of energy storage systems as well as battery and energy management.
