Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Oliver Mayer is an electrical engineer who received his doctorate from the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich in 1994 and his habilitation in the field of energy technology in 2002.

He gained practical experience in solar technology during his three years as an expert for GTZ in various developing countries. Prof. Oliver Mayer worked in the field of system logistics at Krauss-Maffei for almost eight years.

For 15 years, Prof. Oliver Mayer was responsible for technologies for the energy transition and innovation methodology & quality assurance in research at General Electric's European research centre in Garching near Munich.

Prof. Oliver Mayer has been with Bayern Innovativ GmbH since 2019. He currently heads the Energy & Construction division.
