The Institut für Textiltechnik Augsburg gGmbH (ITA Augsburg) is a non-profit research institute based in Augsburg, Bavaria. It is part of the ITA Group and has been closely linked to Augsburg University of Applied Sciences as an affiliated institute since 2020. Its research focuses on textile recycling (development of mechanical recycling processes for the reuse of used textiles), composites (processing of recycled carbon fibres and fibre composites into new products) and artificial intelligence & digitalization (use of AI to optimize textile production processes).

A central project is the Recycling Atelier Augsburg, the first model factory for mechanical textile recycling worldwide. Sustainable and innovative solutions for the textile industry are being developed there in cooperation with Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.
