Manfred Rieck heads the research groups for quantum technologies at Deutsche Bahn. The groups focus on the industrial use of HPC and quantum computers for optimization problems and QML as well as on the security aspects of quantum technologies (PQC, QKD). The focus of his work is the structured introduction of crypto-agility in government and industry.
Mr. Rieck is co-founder of the Bundesquantenallianz, on the Governance Board of the European Quantum Industry Consortium QuIC, on the board of the Bitkom working group HPC & QC and on the Quantum Research Committee of the Münchner Kreis.
Before joining Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel, he held management positions at IBM and BASF. He holds a degree in computer science from the University of Bonn and an MBA from the University of Reading (UK).
