The National Contact Point for the European Defense Fund informs and advises German companies and institutions that would like to participate in the European funding program for defense research or are already active with projects.

The European Defense Fund is an industrial funding program of the European Commission and aims to make the European defense industry more competitive and innovative by providing incentives for targeted cooperation. Companies can apply for funding for research and development in a European network. In an annual work program, concrete project proposals are announced in 15 categories, ranging from cyber and space to materials, simulation and training.

The National Contact Point for the European Defense Fund is based at VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH. It works on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Defense and acts as the National Focal Point for Germany.
