Andreas Ostmann, born in Berlin in 1966, studied physics and obtained his doctorate in microsystems technology at the TU Berlin.

He has been working at Fraunhofer IZM in the field of packaging and interconnection technology since 1992. He heads the IZM's Department of System Integration and Interconnection Technologies. His research focuses on printed circuit board and substrate technology, especially embedding technology.
