20 years ago, the company tandler.com GmbH was founded in Buch am Erlbach. Its goal was and still is to create the ideal information technology basis to be able to optimally plan, maintain and manage the drainage systems of our cities and municipalities. In doing so, it wants to make an important contribution to the further improvement of water protection and water quality. To this end, the team of computer scientists, mathematicians and engineers has created the KANAL++ sewer network data information system. With it, it is possible to digitize, graphically display and modify sewer networks. Additional modules allow calculation procedures to be carried out for hydraulics, rehabilitation and asset valuation. These procedures were mathematically and technically designed and implemented together with Pecher Software GmbH. In the meantime, tandler.com GmbH has made a name for itself as a supplier of any software from the Pecher Group. Thus one can reveal weak points of new to be planned and already existing sewerage systems with the data underlying from local precipitation evaluations of many years. Due to intensive cooperation with leading research institutes, the technology and software used always incorporate the latest scientific findings and thus represent the state of the art in research. The result is outstanding in accuracy and precision. The application in sewer networks of various cities such as Berlin, Cologne or Dortmund and the inclusion of results from this in the European standardization of sewer systems has confirmed this. It is local municipalities, engineering offices, special-purpose associations and water management offices, which are entrusted with this application and whose employees get a tool equipped with excellent user-friendliness in the hand. KANAL++ manages and connects vector-modeled area data and technical sewer data originating from a Geographic Information System (GIS) and specifically from the College of Fee and Contribution Management. The attributes of the geographic objects attached to the GIS tool are also read into the internal data pool in KANAL++, managed and blended with the sewer data. In this way, a comprehensive and detailed water management information source for the drainage system is created. KANAL++ - the tool for consistent, interdisciplinary land use data utilization.
