Drying with the WendeWolf®
The system resembles a greenhouse, i.e. a light-weight building erected on a solid base such as concrete or asphalt. This keeps precipitation out and creates a literal greenhouse effect within the hall. The heart of the system is the "WendeWolf", a push-turn machine running on rails, which turns the sludge over the entire width of the hall, aerates it and at the same time transports it fully automatically to the end of the hall. The machine essentially consists of a mobile steel bridge and a height-adjustable turning drum that can turn and move the sludge in both directions over the entire surface. Appropriate sensors detect the reference point so that the position of the machine in the hall can be determined to within centimeters. This WendeWolf keeps the sludge constantly in "flowing" motion from the hall entrance to the hall exit due to a sophisticated PLC control system that takes all environmental parameters into account. The running and rotating direction as well as the height of this push turner are freely and individually programmable and can be stored in a weekly program. At the entrance, the sludge is fed either by wheel loaders or automatic conveyors, as in the Miltenberg project, and discharged as granules at the end of the hall. The WendeWolf can stack the granulate with corresponding stored work programs and thus temporarily store large quantities in the drying hall. Additional sludge storage areas are not necessary with this system. The drying hall is optimally utilized in this way. Thus the WendeWolf works almost fully automatically. Therefore the support expenditure is limited to the parameterization of the machine and usual maintenance work such as lubrication and cleaning of dust filters. This personnel expenditure is however with each similar procedure variant also to be considered. A solar drying plant with the WendeWolf is characterized by a very low process engineering and mechanical expenditure. The ongoing operating, energy and maintenance expenses are correspondingly low.
Profile
Sewage sludge accumulates in every sewage treatment plant and consists mainly of microorganisms containing water, which makes it difficult to handle. We distribute a self-developed and patented process to dry sewage sludge with the sun. For this purpose, the sewage sludge is spread out in transparent drying halls, similar to greenhouses, and aerated with the "WendeWolf" and is automatically transported through the hall from the sludge feed to the removal. At the end of the hall there is then a granulate which is only 1/5 of the original quantity and easy to handle. Our plants operate in 7 different countries.
