Information
Researchers at the Fraunhofer IIS Development Center X-ray Technology are developing advanced cognitive sensor systems that generate comprehensive data. From this, targeted information can be extracted using intelligent software-based methods. This information is then linked with additional metadata to integrate the collected sensor data and its evaluation into an application-specific context. The ¬knowledge generated and processed in this way enables our customers to make well-founded and rapid data-based decisions. We have mastered the use of all relevant technologies for recording a wide range of plant characteristics - from stereoscopy to laser light-sectioning and computer tomography. Thus, we are able to fuse them together, because it is the combination of the different modalities that opens up far-reaching possibilities for evaluation.
Profile
Our institute is a world-leading application-oriented research institution for microelectronic and information technology system solutions and services. Today, it is the largest institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
The Development Center for X-ray Technology (EZRT), a joint department of Fraunhofer IZFP in Saarbrücken and Dresden and Fraunhofer IIS in Erlangen works on four main areas with the topics of X-ray sensors, computed tomography, image processing and applications.
The Development Center X-ray Technology EZRT is a division of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen and is in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing IZFP in Saarbrücken.
Products
We develop hardware and software for fully automated phenotyping of plants using X-ray technology and optical sensors. In cooperation with our system integrators, we offer turnkey prototype systems. We operate laboratory systems on which you can test your applications in the form of a scientific service or a feasibility study. The following systems are available: Hardware - Conveyor belt systems in a climatic chamber - Robotic systems for use in the field - Laboratory systems for experimental applications Software - Software for the extraction of relevant features - Automated database system for the processing and storage of relevant data Further information at: https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/de/ff/zfp/forschungsthemen/phaenotypisierung.html
