Profile

FGB is an experienced company in special machine construction with many years of experience in the defense industry. The company develops and manufactures customized systems according to military standards - from production technology for ammunition to electric drives and test benches for defense technology. In the field of UxS (Unmanned Systems), FGB focuses in particular on electric drive systems, inspection and test solutions as well as manufacturing technologies that are relevant to the defense industry for unmanned systems on water, land and in the air.

Technology / Research

FGB's technological core competencies
1. Innovative manufacturing technology for ammunition: Development and construction of automated systems for the complete ammunition production process;
High-precision machines such as loading machines, case shakers, assembly machines, coating and packaging systems; focus on process reliability, efficiency and precision
2. Electric drive systems for defense applications: Development, calculation, design and production of complex rotating and linear drive systems; use in weapon stations, guided missiles, optronic platforms, sub-sea systems, etc.; prototype development to series production for extreme operating conditions
3. Test bench technology and components: Development and production of test benches for functional and fatigue strength testing of military components; provision of complete systems and modules for realistic stress tests
4. Eddy current testing technology (NDT - Non-Destructive Testing): Non-destructive, non-contact quality assurance through eddy current testing;
Detection of material and process defects in electrically conductive materials; development of customized software solutions for the visualization and automation of testing processes

1. Further development of production technologies to increase the degree of automation, process reliability and efficiency in ammunition production
2. Innovations in the field of electric drives for unmanned systems (UxS), particularly with regard to power density, energy efficiency and robustness

4. Integration of digital systems (software, sensors, visualization) in manufacturing and testing processes to increase transparency and traceability

Products / (services) performances

Production technology for ammunition: e.g. loading machines for ammunition of various calibers, coating and insertion stations for primers, case shakers for workpiece carriers, automatic assembly machines for electric detonators, coating and packaging machines.

Electric drive systems for defense applications: Built-in motors and complete systems (rotary and linear drives) for weapon stations including actuators for sensor platforms, winch drives for helicopter transportation, actuators for guided missiles, drives for drones, ammunition flow, aiming systems, optronic platforms, guided missiles, winches, auxiliary and rudder drives.

Test benches and test components: Complete test stand systems for functional and fatigue strength testing of defense technology components under real loads, e.g. hexapod for tank turrets, nose landing gear test stand for aviation industry; components e.g. servo-hydraulic cylinders, servo-hydraulic swivel drives, flexible load frames, safe connection units, mechanical accessories, safety devices, control systems.

Eddy current testing systems: Non-destructive, non-contact testing methods for electrically conductive materials, for mix-up testing and fault detection, incl. software for visualizing the test results, including Automated testing system for sleeves, Stationary devices for end-of-line testing, Mobile device for use in the field/service
