Information
Regarding fusion technology, SiC/SiC is an important material for blankets/first wall due to its specific properties: non-magnetic, resistant to neutron attack, heat-resistant, mechanically strong and light-weight compared to metal-solutions. However, current SiC fiber prices are prohibitive to mass-produce SiC/SiC - a prerequisite to use SiC/SiC large-scale in fusion reactors. Therefore, less expensive SiC fibers and SiC/SiCs must be developed to specifically cater to the needs of fusion reactors. Moreover, world capacity of SiC fibers and SiC/SiC must be significantly upscaled. BJS is the only company in the EU disposing of its own preceramic precursors, SiC fibers and CMCs. We are therefore the perfect partner to address topics like breeder blankets, and first wall concepts, as well as upscaling.
Summary
BJS provides ceramic solutions for the most demanding operating conditions where other materials fail.
Profile
BJS Composites develops, produces & markets Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) components based on ceramic fiber reinforced Silicon Carbide (SiC). Our carbon fiber- and SiC fiber-reinforced SiC composites are ITAR-free. We produce according to customer drawings and specialize in prototypes and small series. We dispose of our own proprietary technology. We serve these industries: aero engines, space, process technologies, power generation, water management, H2-applications - and YOUR application.
