The Institute of Textile Chemistry and Man-Made Fibers is engaged in research related to the production and finishing of man-made fibers. Starting with the synthesis of polymers for the production of man-made fibers up to the refinement of fiber surfaces, all areas of fiber research are covered. The development of high-performance ceramic fibers for special applications is a main focus at the ITCF. Other areas of research include the adaptation of fiber properties to special requirements, the optimization of process parameters, and the investigation of polymer recycling.
