NeuroPIPE - AI orchestrated for everyday clinical practice
With NeuroPIPE, deepc GmbH and the Institute of Neuroradiology at TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar have developed a pioneering software infrastructure that seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence into everyday clinical work. Thanks to its intelligent connection to existing systems such as PACS and RIS, NeuroPIPE enables the automated use and orchestration of a wide range of AI models - without the need for individual system adaptations.
The project management by Franz Pfister (deepc GmbH) and Benedikt Wiestler (TUM Klinikum) combines entrepreneurial innovation with scientific expertise. Together, they created a platform that makes it easier for radiology professionals to access AI solutions and at the same time lowers the barriers to market entry for providers of AI applications.
With the successful technical and clinical testing and integration of certified AI algorithms from companies such as Lunit, Gleamer and mediaire, NeuroPIPE impressively demonstrates the potential for scalable, safe and practical AI care in the healthcare sector.

"The NeuroPIPE project has been instrumental in making the deepcOS platform what it is today. In particular, the software development kit developed as part of the project has played a key role in delivering on our promises to partners and customers in terms of seamless integration and deployment experience."
Dr. med. Franz Pfister, MBA
CEO, deepc
"The NeuroPIPE platform we have developed is highly relevant for us from both a clinical and scientific perspective: It significantly facilitates the use of AI algorithms in everyday clinical practice. It also makes it possible for the first time to use and share locally developed AI models translationally in a very uncomplicated way, and has thus enabled our multicenter validation study on synthetic double inversion recovery."
Prof. Dr. med. Benedikt Wiestler
Senior Physician, Institute of Neuroradiology, TUM Hospital and Chair of "AI for Image-Guided Diagnosis and Therapy", TUM School of Medicine and Health
