Procedure

1. Compile information on the plant, the planned measures (modernization, recommissioning or (replacement) new construction), approximate project costs, expected production and performance, own consumption and, if applicable, supply to third parties
   
2. Enter the data in the calculation procedure (annex to the funding guideline) either in advance or as part of the telephone consultation with the project sponsor Bavaria
   
3. Decision as to whether the application makes sense and is likely to be successful

The application can be submitted in writing or electronically via our application portal. If you would like to submit the application electronically, we will provide you with access to www.fips.bayern.de.

The application includes the application form as well as extensive attachments, so you should allow several weeks for the application process.

Once the application has been received, you can start placing the order at your own risk . We recommend that you wait for our confirmation of receipt. Alternatively, you can wait until you receive the funding decision (binding funding decision).

After your application has been reviewed, you will receive a grant notification if the requirements are met, i.e. a binding commitment to fund your project. The funded measure must be started within 6 months of the written grant notification being issued and must be structurally and technically completed within a further 24 months (start of regular operation).

You must submit the proof of use to the Bavarian project management organization no later than 3 months after completion. This must include evidence of the actual costs incurred, a factual report and a substantiated and documented forecast of the expected income from the production of electrical energy.

Once proof of use has been provided on completion of the construction project, 70% of the approved grant will be paid out as an advance payment. 30 % will be retained as part of a five-year earmarking period from completion (commissioning, start of regular operation). The project sponsor Bavaria will finally determine the grant in the final decision after reviewing the utilization report 5 years after completion, taking into account the electricity revenues actually generated and the avoided electricity procurement costs during this earmarking period. The amount of the grant approved in the initial notification or in an amendment notification is subject to revocation.
