Funding conditions

What is funded?

Individual or joint projects can be funded over a period of up to three years. The project can only begin after the selection decision has been announced.

Natural or legal persons are eligible to apply.

A maximum of 90% of eligible expenditure can be funded, depending on the recipient's own interests and performance.

The individual funding rate is determined on a case-by-case basis following an examination of the requirements under funding, grant and EU state aid law. The information provided in section 5.3 BayDiGuP only refers to a possible maximum funding rate. Experience has shown that companies can generally expect an average funding rate of 50 %. 50%, although deviations upwards and downwards are possible. In the case of research and development projects by companies in the field of basic research or services of general economic interest (SGEI), for example, up to 90% of expenditure can be funded, while funding for projects in the field of experimental development can be even lower than 50%. A detailed review and determination of the funding rate takes place as part of the application review and development process.

Projects can be carried out as individual or joint projects. Funding is only available for projects in the Free State of Bavaria. Funding in areas outside Bavaria is only possible if the overall project has a focus of implementation in Bavaria and the funding of activities outside Bavaria results in a clear and demonstrable benefit for the Free State of Bavaria in terms of the purpose of the grant.
